4th of July Gifts and some exiting news

These are my gifts I made for my husband to hand out to his co-workers. I found these patriotic colored licorice in a local store and they just worked perfect for the idea I had in mind.  It was kind of painful to get twenty five rosettes worked up, and I don't remember how many times I burned my fingers with the hot glue gun. Finally my husband stepped in and with four hands it worked much better and faster.

But I don't want to send you off without telling you the exciting news Stampin Up announced yesterday! How does FREE INK PADS sound to you?

Stampin up just released newly designed ink pads, as well as a new color pallet, and now you can get a color family for FREE! That means you can get 10 brand new ink pads.

Impossible Card

I'm pretty sure you have seen a few of the Impossible Card, but I had to give it a try. This card is a head spinner, everybody I showed it to is having the hardest time figuring it out.  It looks very complicated, but is so easy to make.  You should give it a try!

For my version I used the Stampin' Up! Sea Of Texture Bundle. I grew quiet fond of this cute little Octopus.

Have a wonderful day!

Climbing Orchid

I had so much fun today!  I remembered a craft I did with the kids in school I worked with, and thought why not give it a try with Stampin! Up stamps. I picked the Climbing Orchid Bundle but you can make this kind of craft with any other flower stamp.

I stamped the images on what I call Fun Foam and heated it up with the Embossing Gun. The heat not only shrinks the foam a little,  it also makes it shapeable. While it's warm, hold it in the shape you would like to achieve until it's cooled off.

I love how natural the pedals and leaves look and feel. It's very touchable.

I mounted the flowers on a pin so you can put it on your blouse, or pin it on your purse and give it the right look for the season.

Have a great weekend!

Subtle Embossing Folder

When I saw the Subtle Embossing Folder in the new catalog I wasn't completely trilled with it.  As a matter of fact I didn't even waste the time to take a closer look. Unfortunately the picture in the catalog is not the very best and it is very hard to tell how it looks like. So I kept on skipping over this one. But then I kept on seeing some of the magic this embossing folder can actually do, and all of a sudden it was a must have. How funny things are! :)

Well, what can I say it was delivered today and I'm totally in love with it. Look at the close up picture down below. I don't think I have to say a whole lot. It gives the paper, like the name says, this awesome subtle look.

I'm so happy I ordered it and I can see it being used with a lot of projects.

How do you like this look?

Have a great evening!

Waterfront Father's Day Card

Wouldn't that be funny, spending hundreds of dollars on craft supplies and then still buy a Father's Day card for your own husband or father in the store. Well I don't think so!

But it is sure funny after all the Father's Day cards I made in the last few month I waited until the day before to make this card. This only goes to show that creating a beautiful card does not have to take lot of time.
That being said, this card was easy for me because it was made out of love for my husband.

What did  you do for Father's Day?

Sea Of Textures

The nautical stamps are absolutely trendy right now.  For me who loves the outdoors and mountains they are quiet a challenge. So I did jump into the "cold water" :)  and gave it a try. I'm happy for Stampin' Up making things so super easy to coordinate everything.

This one is a shaker card, and everything you need to make this card is in the Tranquil Texture Suit.

Playing with Alcohol Inks

Todays post is not necessarily paper related but it's still includes ink and is very crafty. I love to try new things especially techniques which are new to me. I never invested into alcohol based inks and during a resent visit to a local craft store I discovered some tiles which were painted with some unique designs.

This time I decided to do some research first. Normally I would just dive in head first and buy everything. I chose a few colors and invested in some tiles and got started. I did not regret it, I fell in love working with alcohol based inks. The finished projects are just beautiful, and never the same twice.

I mounted the tiles on a black canvas which makes the colors pop even more.  The possibilities are endless and I will have a lot more fun with this technique.

Do you like to try new techniques?

Tell me about them.

Painted Harvest

While I was still living in Germany, we used to have large fields of sunflowers. It was so beautiful driving through miles and miles of a yellow ocean. I love the cheery and warm color which brightens your day instantly.

I love this color combo between the Very Vanilla, the Crushed Curry and then add a little Cajun Craze to complete it.

What is your favorite flower?  I would like to hear from you!

Lovely Floral

While I was out shopping yesterday, I found these amazing metallic accents watercolors. I love to play with different techniques and I had the Lovely Floral Embossing folder in mind, so of course I had to get them.

I love how this turned out, reminds me of  folkloric designs. Unfortunately the picture doesn't do the card justice. It shimmers way more than the picture shows.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Father's Day

With Father's Day just around the corner I'm trying to come up with different masculine cards. I always struggled to come up with them. But the new Stampin' Up! catalog makes it very easy to create for the men in your life. There are so many nice stamp sets which can be used in multiple ways.

The Rooted in Nature Bundle happens to be my favorite. I will have a lot of fun with it.

Which stamp set is your favorite so far? I would love to hear from you!

Catalog Bling

The new Stampin' Up! Catalog is live and for my customers I always like to make it very special. Not only do I spiral bound the catalogs, but I also add a little what I call "Catalog Bling" onto it.
I add my information on the back so my customers never have to search to long to find my phone number.

This mini apron looks exactly like our aprons we wear when we have our workshops or events. It looks like a little Mini-Me  :).

 Have great evening!

The New Catalog is here!!!

The new  2018-2019 Annual  Stampin' Up! Catalog is live and kicking.  As a Demonstrator, we get to preview and order from the catalog early, which is really exciting.  But it is even more exciting to show it to our customers.

To make it even more exciting I always have a little gift for my customers when they come to my workshops. This time I came up with a little portfolio where I added the new in-colors and included also a copy of the color revamp. I also added some sticky page markers, because you need to mark the new items you would like to have. In case your sticky page markers get lost, I put a notepad in it so you can write everything down and give it to your significant other so they get some ideas for celebrations to come. :)  Last, but not least, I included a calendar to write down all the upcoming workshops.

 Enjoy the new catalog!
