Welcome to the neighborhood!

I created this little basket to welcome new families to our neighborhood. I wanted to make something to make them feel welcome. I filled it with an assortment of candy bars and also information related to the neighborhood.

I had all kinds of ideas to create something, but I wanted something related to a House. When I saw the Home Life Bundle in the new catalog a light bulb went on in my head, and it made everything so much easier and faster.

Climbing Orchid

I love fun fold cards! I love to show my customers there is more than just an ordinary card you can make with paper.  The orchid stamp and the Berry Burst Cardstock make this one extremely pretty.

This is the view with the closed card, you can see I gently stamped the orchid image on one half and for the other half I used the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. The two different techniques are giving the card a lot of depth.

Daisy Delight

While I was a kid and living in Germany I was very close to a lot of fields where I was able to pick as many wildflowers as I could get in my hands. My Mom was always so happy when I came home and surprised her with a bouquet of flowers.

I was able to create this wonderful flower arrangement with only two punches. For the Daisy and the Cornflower I used the Daisy Punch and for the Poppy I used the Pansy Punch. I purchased some Babies Breath, wire and a clay pot to finish this cute little project.

A Little Pocket Money

Who couldn't use a little extra pocket money? The person I have in mind is a poor college student (my daughter). She always loves to get a card like that in the mail.

But it doesn't have to be cash, the little pocket framelit can also hold a gift card or maybe even two.

Pocketful of Sunshine

I'm pretty sure by now you have seen several of these cute little pockets on Pinterest and other places. Of course I didn't want to miss out on this cute little project as well.

I decorated this one just like the title says "Pocketful of Sunshine", very cheery. I think the Daisy is made for this set, it is the perfect finish for this summer treat.

To create the pocket use a strip of Designer Series Paper or Cardstock 1" x 7 1/2" and score at 2 1/4", 3 3/4" and 5 1/4".  The pocket framelit has score lines that you fold over and attach to the strip.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I scream, You scream, we all scream for Ice Cream....

I always love to give a little welcome gift to my customers when they attend my workshops. This time I came up with these cute little ice cream cones, which I filled with Jelly Belly's. Might not be the cool treat the were looking for in these hot temperatures we are having right now, but they are sure sweet.

I used the Sweet Cupcake frosting stamp to make the ice cream. Doesn't it look like some delicious Peach soft serve, and of course with a Cherry on top.
Yummy!!!!

Have a great day!

Just breeze

This is exactly what I would like to do right now. Find me a Beach and kick back, preferably with a cold drink. LOL. This is my favorite stamp set in our new catalog. With this bundle you are covered for every season.

Here you can see what all comes in the bundle. This is a perfect set  for a beginner stamper.

A Special Note....

For todays layout I tried to challenge myself to do something completely different, something I usually wouldn't do. My plan was to create a simple card and I also didn't want to use to many different colors.

Of course white was the go to color and since I wanted to have something pop out I decided to die cut the smaller piece with the Detailed Floral Thinlits and backed it up with Berry Burst Cardstock.  Embossed a piece of Basic Grey Cardstock with the Hexagons Embossing Folder to give the background a little bit more texture.

I would love to hear from you what you think about this card.

Birthday Blooms

I love the Birthday Blooms stamp set!  No matter what color I paint it or what medium I use, it always looks stunning.  This time I decided to do the water coloring, and I know it's hard to see on the picture but I used some splattering in the background.

Below you find the ingredients for this card. If you would like to make a card like this, just click on the images below and it will take you to my Stampin' Up store.

Layers and more layers

I made this card for one of our group's weekly challenges. I love layering, so when I saw the color combination given to us I knew exactly what I wanted to do. This layout is also great to reduce all the scrap paper we all have laying around and find so hard to get  rid off. LOL!

I decided to choose something more serene for my stamped image, since I had already all those layers going and didn't wanted to get to wild with this card.

Life is a beautiful thing

We just got back home from a beautiful trip to the west coast. We went to see Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, Redwood National Park in California all the way down to San Francisco.  Then we went to the visitor center on Donner Pass, lunch in Reno and then home. While we were driving down the coast highway I saw so many beautiful beaches which gave me the inspiration for this card.

I used the Distress Ink pads from Tim Holtz and stamped directly onto the acrylic block. Than used a spray gun and made it really wet, almost to the dripping point. Put the block facedown onto a piece of watercolor paper and put some weight on it. I waited for about five minutes than removed the block. If there is a little excess ink, just use a paper towel and tap it.

I will be having so much more fun with this technique, because it looks stunning and it is so easy.

 Have a great weekend!
