Peaceful Place

The Peaceful Place stamp set caught my eye the minute I had the annual catalog in my hands. I love scenic stamp sets. I ordered it right away.

If you are like me, you know how many problems we have making masculine cards. Well, don't think anymore. This is the perfect stamp set for the men in your life. It can be adjusted to the season you need it for. This so easy and such a wonderful stamp set.

Red-Black Plaid

Hi my name is Sabine and I'm a red-black plaid addict. LOL! I think everybody who knows me, knows how much I love it!  I have clothing, hats, blankets,  you name it I have it.  Nothing goes better with the country look and also for Christmas.  So when all the stores put their Christmas ribbon on the shelf I have to find the plaid ribbon selection, of course then I have to get some.

I know this is not paper related, but I'm so proud of it I had to show it off. As you know I love to make my own Holiday decorations and this one is a wonderful addition to my home.

Do you like plaid? What is your favorite color combo for the Holidays?

Happy Harvest Blessings

It is the time of the year were we crafters get ready for three major celebrations. I'm bouncing back and forth between Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are so many cute projects in my mind and I feel like I don't have enough time to show all of them to you.

Today I wanted to show you this gift bag idea which I decorated with the leaves from the Colorful Seasons Bundle. I embossed the front with the Basket Weave embossing folder and sprinkled a little of the Early Espresso Refill ink over the front of the topper.

To make the topper you take a piece of paper and cut it in the width of the bag you will be using. I cut my paper 5"x5" and folded it in half. To create the handle I used two of the Layering Ovals Framelits, make sure you use two sizes which are like two sizes apart. Then line up the middle of the folded paper and the middle of the framelits (I marked mine with a Sharpie)  and secure it with some Washi Tape. Before you run the sandwich through your cutter make sure the top plastic plate edge lines up with the middle of the folded paper. That way you will not cut all the way through, because we only want to create a handle. I folded and clued the middle piece to the back of the topper and after I decorated it, I stapled it to the bag.

Wood Words

Thank You Cards are one type of cards I will always have a stash on hand. You never know when something comes along you would like to show some kind of appreciation.  They don't have to be over the top decorated, it's the thought which counts.

For this project I used the Wood Words stamp set, and since I wanted to created kind of a Farmhouse style card I completed the look with Very Vanilla cardstock and the Wood Textures 6'x6" Designer Series Paper.  Everything you need is available to order  down below, just click on the pictures.

I hope you liked today's post.

Sweet Storybook Tree

I used to be part of an afternoon school program for the school I worked for.  One afternoon we made trees with lunch bags. Well it brought it back to mind when I saw the Sweet Storybook Bundle in the annual catalog.  I love creating my own fall decoration, reminds about the times when I was a kid and my mom and I did crafts together. Nothing better to do on a nice crispy fall day!

For this project I used also the leaves from the Colorful Seasons Bundle. These two Bundles work so well together.

What do you think?

Country Home

Don't you love when somebody gives you a little gift, just because they felt like it. Well, I believe in paying it forward and I always have little gifts prepared. Can be as simple as a Danish Roll, but what makes it so special is that you took time and made it personal. Take one to your next doctor appointment, when you get your oil change done or just sent one of these cuties in your husbands or kiddoes' lunch bag for desert. Don't you think that would make their day much better.  It can make a difference!

This one I will definitely smuggle in my husbands work tote. I'm sure he will love it.

I decorated each one a little bit different and I will pick one for a specific person when the time comes.

Wouldn't you love to receive one of these decorated sweets. They would also look good on a festive decorated Thanksgiving table.

Just one stamp set and a couple of different embossing folders and some ribbon. It doesn't take a whole lot to make somebody happy for a day!

 Hope you liked today's project.

Spooky Sweets

The busiest time of the year for all crafters has begun, and I'm one busy girl. Halloween is only two weeks away and I still have so much on my plate. I just got done making seventy of these cute little Witches Hats and of course I couldn't settle with one kind. Oh no, there are so many options and I wanted to try them all. Well not all, otherwise I still wouldn't be done, but you get the idea.

The first one I kept in traditional orange, but I inked the Seaside Embossing Folder up with black ink. Which gave it a more eerie look.  For the brim I used one of the Delicate Lace Edgelits.

The next one, I stamped with what I think is suppose to be a cloud from the Spooky Sweets Stamp set. Punched out two sets of black bats, but on one set I used the silver shimmer paint. Since this hat was so dark I wanted to give it a little color pop, so I used a cotton ball behind the sentiment. I think it worked quiet well. The brim for the hat, is the left over paper punched from the Delicate Lace Edgelits. Nothing goes to waste!

This one again in orange, but this time I stamped it with the bats from the same stamp set and afterwards embossed it with the Swirls & Curls Textured Impression Embossing Folder. Wow, that is one long name, but the result is very pretty.

And for the last one, I want to try something elegant but not to overboard. This one I embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder and used some black gems on it.

Well, I could have come up with a lot more, but I had to set my self a limit. I don't know which one I like best, they are all pretty!

Maybe you tell me which one is your favorite?

Thanks for checking in.

Serene Garden Christmas Card

Well I guess I had to get started, even if I'm not ready for it.  I just created my first Christmas card for this season. I tried something different this time and used a stamp set which actually doesn't say Christmas at first. But as you can see it is all about the color you are using.

The Serene Garden Bundle can be used for so many different occasions, just adjust the colors and the sentiment to what ever celebration you need it for. I love how peaceful and elegant this card looks and the little Dove just makes it pop.

Halloween Scene

I had a little time on my hands and watched an instructional painting clip this afternoon. It was so relaxing and inspiring that I wanted to try something similar with paper and ink. It made me think about an evening we had in Germany where we were sitting outside and watching the Bats going after the insects. I thought I give it a try and capture it in a Halloween card.

With the help of the In The Woods Framelits Dies and the Spooky Bats Punch I created this eerie Halloween card. I had a lot of fun trying new techniques.

What new techniques have you tried lately?

HO! HO! HO! Who Needs Snow?!

Do you belong to the people who hates snow?  I love snow but I know a few which can actually live without the white stuff. Well, this vacationing Santa is just perfect for the anti snow people. I combined the So Santa stamp set with the Tropical Chic Bundle for this perfect look. And I have already the right person to give this too.

A few month ago I joined one of my amazing upline's (Erica Cerwin) workshops and that's where I got the idea of the box. I made some slight moderation to the box by making it a little shorter in height.  When I saw this Santa in the Holiday catalog, visions of palm trees and tropical flowers went through my head. LOL!

World Card Making Day

World Card Making Day is today, and Stampin Up' wants you to gather your Friends and Family and celebrate.  But to make the most out of this promotion for you Stampin Up' extended the sale from October 1st - until October 7th. Get 10% of selected product pictured below.

I celebrated by working on this spooky candle light. This project was so fun and so easy to make. Instead of getting annoyed by the candles blackening the surrounding glass, I actually created the smoked look. It worked out perfect for this spooky scene. I finished the glass off, by adding some trees from the Winter Woods Stamp Set and used the Spooky Bat Punch to complete the project.

Here is a picture with the light on. You wonder what the border on the bottom of the glass is? Well, I cut a piece of a black Anti Sliding Mat, the one you can use in your drawers, and glued it with some Tear & Tape to the glass. Don't you think it works wonderful with the rest of it.

Hope you enjoyed this project. Let me know if  you have any questions.
