Cards You Prepare In Advance

There is always that one birthday or celebration sneaking up on you, and you need that last minute card. If you don't like to be caught on your left food, just prepare some in advance. Choose a easy design which can be used for any occasion and also suitable for all genders.  I usually keep a few of the same design around, just in case. Just make sure you don't hand it out to the same person twice, LOL.

For this design I went with Whisper White and Basic Black which is a basic color combo. I stamped the white squares with the small sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflower stamp set. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and again very versatile.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Stamping On Leather

Today I tried something a little different. Still stamping related but on a new surface. I've had these pouch kits for some time now and wanted to decorate them. Since I'm not good at free hand painting, I really didn't know what to do with them. Today I was cleaning out my craft room and they fell into my hands again. This time I thought why not stamp on them? I was scared of messing them up at first, but I really like how they turned out.

With the first one I started slow by just using the Celebrate Sunflower. I used the Stampin Blends in Daffodil Delight and Old Olive to color them.

Than I got a little braver and tried a little bigger image. I went with the Ornate Style stamp set. This time I sponged the bag with a little color to give it a different look. I also added some sparkles. Doesn't it look like one of those western purses.

For the third one I went with the Free As A Bird stamp set, but wasn't really happy with it because the image wasn't big enough. So I just added the flower from the same stamp set. Problem solved!

Since I loved how that little flower turned out, I decided to make another one with just the flower. This one I wanted to look a little more worn. So I used some acrylic paint and thinned it down with water and just sponged the entire purse.

This actually turned out to be my daughters favorite and she snatched right away.

Remember only two more days for the Bonus Days. Order before July 31st is over and you will receive a $5 coupon in your email  for every $50 you spend, which you can use during the month of August.

Wax Paper Resist Technique

Lately I see more and more pictures popping up of an older technique called Wax Paper Resist. I will tell you more about that technique later. Well, in most of the pictures I have seen the wax paper is just crumbled together. Which makes an awesome looking background after you are done, but I was thinking why not use our embossing folders. First I was a little skeptical but after I did my very first one I was hooked. I just kept on getting all the different embossing folders and I was amazed about the results. I could have went on, but I had to quit at some point.

For this one I used the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder and colored it with Mango Melody.

This one is called Tin Tile and one of the new in-colors Magenta Madness.

Another one for the men in our life. I used the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and the in-color Cinnamon Cider.

And last but not least the Lace 3D with another in-color Just Jade.

This technique is so much fun. I could have went on for hours, but like I said already I had to come to an end eventually.

More about the technique. You will need wax paper, paper (copy paper will do), glossy paper, iron, embossing folder, brayer or blending tool and the color of your choice. Take a piece of wax paper and emboss it with the embossing folder of your choice. Then on an iron safe surface (I just used my ironing board) start the sandwich with a couple pieces of paper, put down the embossed wax paper, a piece of Glossy paper face done, a couple more pieces of paper to finish the sandwich. Use your iron (without steam, on the highest setting) and iron over the sandwich for a few seconds.  After everything is cooled off, ink up your brayer and keep on rolling it over the glossy paper with the imprint up. How much color you want to add is up to you.

Sunflowers again, you might say! But I can't get enough of this stamp set! It is my most favorite flower of all! For today I paired it with the Forever Fern stamp set and you have to admit these two are made for each other. They compliment each other just beautifully! Just looking at this card makes me happy!
This stamp set will be a favorite of mine for a very long time.

So why wait!

I hope you enjoyed today's project!

Tasteful Touches

Another beautiful card created with the Tasteful Touches stamp set. This time I used Magenta Madness, one of the new in-colors. I love how bright and cheery this color is. I'm usually not a pink person but I'm easily falling in love with that kind of pink. The embossing was done with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. Another one of my favorites.

This is a very easy card which can be done in a couple of minutes. Great for every beginning stamper.

Hope you enjoyed today's project!

Just Saying Hello

I'm finally back from a short relaxing trip into the Idaho Mountains and ready to craft again. How I do miss my craft items when I'm away from home. But it's also great going out on hikes and enjoying natures beauty. I sure got a lot of inspiration on this trip. We saw a lot of birds on our outings and I got instantly reminded about the Tasteful Touches stamp set. So today I wanted to create a card using the feather from this stamp set as the background.

I used all the new 2020-2021 in-colors and I was surprised how well they go together.
I love all the new colors, what about you?

I used the "Just saying hello" sentiment from the same stamp set which is perfect to send to Friends and Family just to check in.

Just a reminder that Bonus Days are still going on. For every $50 spend you will receive a Coupon Code worth $5 which you can spend in August.

Candy Cane Daisies

Due to Covid-19 my daughter has had tons of Zoom meetings which not everybody is thrilled with. There is a lot of tension building up and not a lot of smiles. I figured I would get some little treats made up for them just to get a smile on their faces. They all need them desperately!

I bought these apple flavored candy canes and turned them into some beautifull Daisies. I think Daisies put a smile on everybody's faces.

I sure hope it will help to cheer them up a little bit.
What do you think?

Have a great weekend!

Decor For Outside Wedding or Birthday

Are you planning an outdoor wedding or birthday party and you would like to make your own unique decorations? I have the perfect idea for you! I bought a small metal wreath and a terracotta saucer that fits perfectly in the middle of the wreath. I did cut the outer layer off of the wreath but I did that for personal aesthetic. I used several different colors of card stock to cut out the Forever Fern Branches and used some pebbles for inside the saucer. The candle is a battery operated which is perfect for the outdoors. I love this natural looking decoration!

When you purchase the Forever Fern Bundle you will qualify for a $5 coupon because of the Bonus Days Promotion which ends on July 31st and can be redeemed during the month of August.

Not only you will get your wedding/birthday decoration done, you also get a discount on future fun!

Nature's Beauty Buttons

I considered today my play day. I started the day out with making buttons for a friend of mine who will be opening a business pretty soon and she wanted some small little gifts to hand out. I always wanted a button maker and finally my lovely Hubby bought me one for Christmas last year. I have to admit I haven't used it very much yet, but after today that will change. So while I had everything out and going I thought why not try it with some Stampin' Up images.  I had so much fun with it, I could have went on forever. It is definitely addictive!

I tried several stamps and I had to be careful because the stamped images will be kind of cut off once the pin get assembled.

Finally I settled with the Nature's Beauty stamp set, because I love everything outdoors.

Aren't these curious forest animals just the cutest thing?

I will be making more for sure. Maybe I can even sweet talk my hubby into a larger size? So I could do bigger images.

Thanks for stopping by!
