You Go, Girl!

Most stamp sets for Valentine's Day are geared towards romantic love for your significant other.  But what about the other people in your life. I'm so happy that Stampin'Up! released the Hearts & Kisses Bundle which are appropriate for all the Daughters, Mothers and Friends. This stamp set is also great for just sending a little booster or pick me upper when needed.  

The first thing which caught my eye were those amazing lips. Look at those lips, I can't get over how realistic they look. The special texture that gives added depth and dimensions in a single step, creating photo-realistic images is a patent-pending from Stampin'Up!

For the background I used a little help from the Lots Of Heart Bundle. I love the gingham heart which I kept in the same color, Real Red, like the rest of the project.

Love Gnome

I saw a similar Gnome the other day on the internet and since I'm always up for a little challenge I had to try to make one with Stampin'Up products. This reminded me about when my daughter was in Elementary School and we were paper piecing together. I used the lovely Flower & Field Designer Series Paper which you can get for FREE with a $50 order (before shipping and taxes). 

I found a coloring page and printed a few copies to cut out the hat and the beard individually. For the smaller pieces and the body I used Stampin'Up! dies. After I traced the pieces on chipboard and cut them out I used the Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the chipboard pieces. To get the pieces sized to the chipboard I used emery boards to sand the sides down.

Sealed With A Kiss

I just love when I find candies which coordinate with our stamps sets. In this case I found these adorable lollipops which have a plastic end shaped like lips. Isn't that awesome! This works perfectly with the Hearts & Kisses Bundle. 

With this stamp set, Stampin'Up! has also thought about all the single people out there that are not big fans of Valentine's Day. It comes with phrases like "Happy Galentine's Day" and "You Go, Girl".

New Blending Brushes

I'm always happy when I can purchase new tools and try new techniques. Stampin'Up! has just released Blending Brushes which blend ink beautifully. You can apply extremely light shades of ink or create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines. Or you can use them with decorative masks or stencils. They are so easy to use and the results are amazing.  

This was my first try with the Blending Brushes. I was playing with different shades of red for Valentine's Day. I masked the middle with the heart and brushed from the inside out. It is so much fun adding more color to your backgrounds.

Shaker Card

I haven't done a Shaker card for a very long time, so today I decided to give it a shot again.  I used the Meant To Be stamp set which was just perfect for this kind of card. I used all the little sentiments inside the punch outs and completed the look with the Meant To Be stamp. These three sentiments are going so well together.  

It is a little labor of love which makes it the perfect Valentine's card to give to your significant other!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I watched a video the other day about this kind of technique and really loved it. This made me wonder if I could make one with my Stampin'Up! products. The only thing I was kind of concerned about was the size of the heart cut out. But I accomplished it with a template and little fuzzy cutting. 

For the circle you have to cut different size strips in the color combination you prefer and adhere them onto a clear plastic sheet. Then cut out the shape you would like to have, I chose to cut a circle. Now for the the tricky part, since I didn't have a slightly bigger heart than the one pictured. I used the outline of the heart and traced it onto the circle and then fuzzy cut it out. I raised the circle by using dimensional's and inserted the decorative heart right in the middle. Below is a better picture to show you how it looks. 

The background paper was created with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder which I inked up in Blushing Bride to give it a little bit more depth.

Just For You

It's always good to prepare cards in advance and right now is the best time for it. For my card today I have lots of different uses in mind. It can be for a Birthday, Valentine's Day or just because. 

For my project I used the stamp set Jar Of Flowers. I choose the Tulip bouquet and colored it in bright colors just right for spring.  This card can make a lot of recipients very happy!

Anniversary Card

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and started the new year refreshed and with a lot of creative ideas! I took a little break over the holidays and today was my first day back in my craft room. It is always harder after a long break to get back into the crafting zone. But our anniversary is coming up in January so I wanted to make a card for that special man in my life. 

I chose the Quite Curvy Bundle which will be available tomorrow in the new Spring Mini Catalog. The "you're one in a Million" sentiment was just perfect for what I had in mind. The background paper is from the Plaid Tidings Designer Serious Paper which can be used for all seasons. The other sentiment and the little heart came from the Meant To Be Bundle.
