New On My Desk!

Found these cute Candy Cane pens online that I would like to hand out to some friends. But they looked a little bit to plain, so I decided to spruce them up.  Like we paper crafters say, it's all about the wrapping! So I got the Poinsettia Petals Bundle out and in no time I transformed this simple looking pen into something very special.

Just a little bit of paper and the wright tools and you can do anything! Create a card with the same bundle and stick the pen on the outside of the envelope. A fast but very impressive little gift!

 What do you think?

Have a great weekend!

New On My Desk!

Every year for Christmas I try to come up with a goody bag shaped as an Angel. Of course this year is not any different. In the past I had to be very inventive for the wings and used all sorts of different branch dies or feather dies. This year Stampin'Up! made it really easy with the Dove of Hope Bundle. Just think outside the box!

The main body came from a design by Pootles, but I adapted the size to fit the wings to become an Angel. I used the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper for the body. For the hair I had a few ideas but nothing really worked for me until I remembered some stuffing I had in my sewing room. Those two hobbies are going so well together!

New On My Desk!

Today's project is about creating a beautiful scenic background with two of my favorite stamp sets.  I used the Dry Brush background stamp and sponged it with different colors, and added the tree from the Life Is Beautiful stamp set to create a perfect Fall scenery.

But don't stop there, think about all the different color combinations to match the other seasons. With just two stamps sets and a few different colors the options are endless.

Have fun playing with color!

New On My Desk!

When you are a Crafter you never look at a package the same way. We either reconstruct or recycle. And sometimes we just get inspired by certain boxes or shapes.  I recently bought a entire flat of Blackberries and while we were eating them one day I kept on thinking what a waste of plastic. That's when the idea of a pumpkin patch came to mind. It took a little bit of cleaning and removing the labels so I had room to decorate them for my taste.

I used the Wheat Bushel stamp from the Gather Together Bundle which is embossed in white and sponged in BumbleBee for the background.

It even looks like a Pumpkin Patch.  What do you think?

So next time you have a box or a wrapper, just imagine what you can do to recycle it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

New On My Desk!

Every year I make gifts for the neighbors. Mainly sending some home baked goods for the holidays. This year I think we have to come up with something a little different. So I decided to make something I can leave on the front porch and they can decide if they want to take it in or leave it out there. Just trying to stay safe! Hopefully this will help put them in the Holiday spirit!

This Poinsettia is absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe I waited this long to use it. Do you have stamp sets or bundles that you waited and waited to use and then finally after using it don't know why you waited.  I added a little banner with the greeting on the top of the glass globe.  I think this is a cute little touch.

Can you see the embossing on the petal leaves? It is absolutely stunning.  Unfortunately the globe didn't give me a lot of space to play with. But there will be more Poinsettias coming, I can guarantee that!

Thank you for letting me share my creativity with you!

New On My Desk!

I love building landscapes. So today I was playing around with masking and dry brushing to get different results. At first I didn't have a plan, but it came around the longer I played.  I decided to go with Nature's Beauty stamp set because that gave me the trees, grass and the animals I had in mind.

I so love the outcome of this card.  I added a little sparkle for depth. After all it's suppose to be a chilly Winters night.

Thanks for checking in!

New On My Desk!

I had this idea for today's project for quiet some time, but never got around to it. I really didn't know where to start and what kind of bundles I would use. I had the clock mechanism in my craft stash for years and was about ready to toss it out. Glad I didn't do it! Well yesterday I actually wanted to make a card with the Dove of Hope bundle, when this entire project started to become real. I'll tell you the truth I had no plan, I just went on with a few trails and error in sizing, but finally got it done.

I just love the finished project!

I kept on adding ideas like a little ledge, but then I didn't know what I would do with it. So happy I had the Grace's Garden Bundle. I cut some of the garden gates and adjusted them so they looked like a little fence.

I also used a couple of dies from the Meant to Be Bundle, like the heart and the thin scalloped trim. I love these finishing touches.

For the weights I used the two maple dies from the Gather Together bundle. I sandwiched a penny in between so they would hang nicely. The pendulum I created with the Story Label Punch folded in half and cut a little slit to fit a 1/4" piece of paper. The little round weight is the 1" circle punch ( I know this one is not current, so please forgive me) but it can be any other shape. I also sandwiched this one with a penny in the middle.

Measurements for the rest of the cuckoo clock are as follows.
Roof  5 1/2" x   4"
Roof Side Panels  3/4" x 5 1/2"
Main Body 5 1/2" x 6"
For the front ledge you are going to create a box.  Cut a piece 3 3/4" x 7", score it at 3/4" in on both short sides and evenly at 3/4" (4 score lines) on the long side.  Cut the comers out (3/4" x 3/4") and then cut in to the 3/4" score line on the short sides.
Before you adhere it together make sure to cut the slots for the pendulum and the weights.

To give it a little stability, I backed the entire Cuckoo Clock with Chipboard.

How do you like my Cuckoo Clock?

New On My Desk!

We all know how complicated it is to come up with ideas to create cards for the men in our lives. And not having a lot available didn't help at all. So when the new Stampin'Up! catalog was released I was very pleased to see that there was so much more available.

I stamped my background with the Buffalo Check Background stamp, which reminds me of the good old flannel shirts and works great with the sentiment. For some more depth I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I think that makes this card manly enough!
What do you think?

There are a lot more possibilities with this stamp set, something for all the men in you life!

Thanks for letting me share my creativity with you today!

New On My Desk!

If you know me, you will know that I like to try all kinds of different craft projects. Today I would like to introduce you to my newest craft excursion. A friend of mine opened up her business which is called Bella Mosaica and it is a glass mosaic studio. I finally had some time to go there and make my first project. She has tons of different wood shapes, and other fun projects to decorate. I had so much fun and it is very relaxing. I picked the Idaho shape for my first project and I just love it. This will look so good on my bookshelf.

They have a studio in Eagle, Idaho so if you are local go check it out! They offer classes but you can always just walk in and get started! Definitely a place you want to check out!

But now back to my first love, paper crafting!
The Designer Series Paper 15% off sale is going on right now! To make it a little easier for you I listed each individual paper down below. This way it might be a little bit easier for you to decide!

With a new month comes a new host code! Please remember to apply this month's host code to any order under $150 (before shipping & taxes).
