Playing Around With Alcohol Inks

We have these amazing sunsets in Idaho and I always take pictures of them. I must have hundreds of them by now. Just recently I scrolled through every single one and that gave me the inspiration for this project below. I was a little nervous at first, since I have never done this technique and I have to admit I had a few tries and fails.  At first I was overthinking this project, but then I just let the colors flow the way they wanted too. And I think it turned out very pretty!

Now since I was done with the background  I just had to find the perfect stamp set to complete my card. The Summer Days Hostess Set was just perfect to create a beautiful Summer evening scene.

I chose the sentiment from the Well Said stamp set.
I think it makes this entire scene even better!

Have a great evening!

Just A Little Tip!

For today I would like to share a little tip with all of you. A lot of us have the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and we all love it very much. It makes scoring the projects so much easier especially with the little place marker which can be placed anyway you need them. Well, these markers are very small and can get lost very easily. I'm pretty sure we all have been searching for them at one point. Unfortunately Stampin'Up! has discontinued the replacement markers so they are no longer available. I'm pretty sure a lot of demonstrators and customers have complained about that decision and we all can only hope they will be back one day.

A team mate of mine was asking about sharing some if we would have extras. But we all just have what came with the scoring tool. So I was thinking about something I could use instead. And don't ask me how this idea popped into my head but it actually worked out.

How about the end of a flossing tool!

I just cut the pointy end off and it fits perfectly into the little slots of the scoring tool. This was my prototype and I could have made it a little longer.

Every once in a while we have to be creative and create a work-around.

I hope that helps you to be creative when you are in need.

Did you have to invent something to make something work?

Have a wonderful sunny weekend!

Father's Day Gift

I was cleaning and sorting out my craft room, which I should have done a while ago. I discovered these large binder clips.  These clips are pretty handy for a lot of different projects, and they come in all kind of sizes and colors. For my project I decided to go with the largest one. I have done a photo holder before and thought  with Father's Day being that close, it would be a perfect little gift.

What I love about this picture frame is, that it is easy to exchange the pictures. It is not very big (we know that men don't like clutter), so it can go on a desk or a small shelve. And on top of it all, it will not break your bank. LOL.

This is something easy and inexpensive to do with your children which may want to surprise their dads in the worst way.

Below you can find all the ingredients I used to create this fun little project. You can find the binder clips in any office supply store or online.

Jar Of Flowers

I enjoy walking through my backyard and taking in all the different colors of flowers which are blooming right now. I can never have enough flowers. I love perennials because they come back every year.  I have two Rosebushes that I put in planters and they are getting huge. One is almost taking up the size of the entire window in front of my Family Room.  But I don't mind it, it just gives us a little bit more shade when we need it. When I look outside that window I see all the Roses blooming.

The Jar Of Flowers bundle reminds me of my backyard. It has all the different flowers for the different seasons.

Thank you for checking out my blog!

Forever Fern

I love all stamps nature and outdoors related. When I saw the Forever Fern Bundle in the preview of the new catalog I had to have it. This bundle does not only have beautiful detailed stamps of branches and sentiment, but it also comes with some really good sized dies. Some of the dies can easily fill up the entire card front.
I especially like that this bundle can create cards for men or women. We all have our problems when it becomes making cards for the men in our lives, well this stamp set makes it a little bit easier.  You will also get a lot of uses out of it because it is very versatile, the possibilities are endless.

For my project today I went a little out of my comfort zone with the colors. I used Shaded Spruce, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss and I have to admit I really love this color combination.

How do you like this color combination?

Well that's it for today, hope you have a very relaxing weekend!

Father's Day Treat

Sometimes it pays off to follow your husband into an auto part store. I was strolling through the aisles while my hubby tried to find something and these air fresheners caught my eye. I know they have been around forever. What makes them special is the time and thought you put into it.

I added a chocolate bar to my little tree package and I might also add a gift card from the same auto part store or maybe a home improvement store.
I don't think you can go wrong with a gift like that!

Let's Celebrate You

Can you tell I love Sunflowers and bright and cheery colors. I hope that you are not getting tired of seeing this stamp set. But after all Summer is not that far off.  That's the reason I combined Whisper White Card stock with Crushed Curry to give it a really nice crisp look. I think this card is perfect for a lot of Summer celebrations.

You can use this card for a lot of different occasions. I'm thinking Graduations, Birthdays, Anniversaries and why not for a Family Reunion invitation. The possibilities are endless.

Below you can find all the ingredients I used to create this cheerful card!

Happy Birthday Treats

I always like to have some birthday gifts made up in advance. My family likes to surprise me with needing a gift for the next day. For this one I just created a little box cover for a Hershey bar. I used the Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee Designer Series Paper which are both new in-colors. I especially love the wood grain design. Sunflowers are my favorite flower, they are so cheery and they symbolize Summer to me.

I guess that's perfect for all the Summer birthdays out there.

What is your favorite in color from the new catalog?

Have a wonderful relaxing weekend!
